Ever wondered why some music makes you wanna dance, and some doesn’t? Being a cappella singers faces us with the unique challenge to make music groove – without a drummer. The groove challenge forces new ways of singing upon us and it demands more of our basic musical skills – especially time. In this workshop we will work with time, puls and subdivisions as a foundation and internalize it in our body. From this base we will add phrasing of words into the mix, adding attention to beginnings as well as endings. And lastly we will work with the concept of ghost notes to make the music organic and alive.
